"I like helping people in any way possible and I was also looking for a way to get accustomed to the local Glasgow accent and thought that volunteering might help me. I am quite confident in using computers and noticed that there was an opening for a digital volunteering in Glasgow life. As I had been using Glasgow Library facilities for quite some time I knew it was a wonderful service and thought what better place to volunteer than Glasgow Life and opted for the Digi-PALS volunteer opportunity.

I found the recruitment process was good and people are very friendly. I got opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and age groups which helped me improve my computer knowledge while helping others and fostered confidence in myself to speak to different people and slowly learning the local accent."

"Volunteering gives me a sense of satisfaction that I am helping others, but by volunteering I am also helping myself to get out into the community and do things that I enjoy. It has lived up to my expectations and benefitted me in many paths of my life including giving me motivation to take part in the community and I feel that stress has left both me and my family because they know I am happy."
